Salvaging himself? I'm assuming this is @NateBauer talking, but sorry guys, and I'm sure most of you agree, that all this does (He told paterno: "i saw jerry with a young boy in the shower/that it was way over the lines and extremely sexual in nature") is show how woefully McQuery responded to a minor under duress by walking away.
Again, perhaps he did nothing legally wrong, but what about morally? Pretty rhetorical question IMHO.
