Need to get the offense going early and often in this game.

    Commodore in, Kindl scratched:

DETROIT -- Defenseman Mike Commodore will make his Detroit Red Wings debut tonight against the Calgary Flames at Joe Louis Arena (7:30, Fox Sports Net Detroit).

Commodore has been out since Sept. 28, when he sprained his MCL in a preseason game at Chicago.

The Red Wings signed the 6-foot-4, 227-pound Commodore to a one-year deal on July 1, looking for a big, physical presence on their blue line. He will be paired with Jonathan Ericsson tonight, as Jakub Kindl is a healthy scratch.

"I'm going to try to keep it simple, be strong defensively and move the puck,'' Commodore said. "I'm not going to try to do too much. That's when I get into trouble. I just want to keep it simple, have a strong game and have fun.''
    Here is Detroit's lineup:

    Hudler-Datsyuk-Cleary
    Franzen-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi
    Filppula-Helm-Abdelkader
    Miller-Emmerton-Holmstrom

    Lidstrom-White
    Kronwall-Stuart
    Ericsson-Commodore

    Howard (starting)
    Conklin

Patrick Eaves did not skate again and remains day-to-day with a sore back suffered in Tuesday's game.

“Last game I had one shift I came back to the bench and didn't feel right,'' Eaves said. "I was able to finish the game. After the adrenaline wore off I started feeling a lot of pain in my back.''

He said he's day-to-day, that this isn't a major setback.

“It doesn't feel good,'' Eaves said. "It's not fun, but it'll take whatever time it needs and I'll be back.''

    Atrocious hockey team right now.
Some men aren't looking for anything logical.... They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

luckily we're still 10-6, 4 games above .500 - so we have some leeway.

I knew with the coaching changes and all there would be an adjustment period...

didn't see it being this bad though (figured they'd have a stretch of a few bad games, might lose more than win, but not losses 6 in a row)..

    **** Hudler.

Sick and tired of waiting for Flip to become a player that can be counted on.

Hudler and Flip are garbage. Neither is ever going to live up to what people expect of them. This team is lacking some legitimate goal scoring after Pav, Z, Franzen. They need to make a move to aquire another guy than can score for them or bring up a young kid like TatarNyquist and roll with them over Hudler at this point. There isnt a downside to replacing him because he is terrible defensively and he isnt scoring so what use is he to them.
