Norman will apparently be giving up football after his senior season. Pretty insane if you ask me, but if he doesn't really want it, than he shouldn't waste anyone's time. Same person said that nobody is really even recruiting him anymore. Everyone has basically given up.

WOW, honestly unbelievable...Hopefully his parents have $$ to afford his education..That is a lot to totally give up..

Ha, I never looked at this thread before...missed out on some nonsense. I always wanted to correct that D Zone dude's grammar and stuff, but you know, that makes me a jerk.

But yeah, strange turn of events for a kid Rivals considers one of the 250 best prospects in America.

He will almost definitely get a track scholarship to a big time school, which some say has been his primary goal for awhile now. He is state champion in the shotput.

The thing is that, even if he does ultimately decide to play football, nobody outside the MAC is going to take a chance on this kid changing his mind a year down the road. You either want it, or you don't. He obviously doesn't. SMag mods are now saying he won't make an official decision until September, but I don't think it will matter at that point, at least for MSU. Don't think we would have room by then, even if we decided that he was worth the chance.

Hey this is a tough call to make.. Imagine working your whole life to get an offer from a program like MSU (I'm a michigan fan) and then making the choice to not play football.. I know some people that went to some Mac schools for different sports and honestly when I ask them why they stopped playing they all answer the same "it just wasnt fun any more"

A couple of my best friends played college baseball, and they said the exact same thing. Sports at the next level becomes more of a job than a game. They said it just wasn't fun anymore. You have to really, really want it.
