Which is the reason why I am going to start off light/on the cheap. This way I can a. See if I want to do this and b. if I do fail my failure doesn't kill me financially.

BTW it really depends on who you talk to about these auctions. Some swear by smart decisions and a cool head will lead to making it, while others say you can't make anything.

try and do research when you can. Normally local newspapers will advertise who the storage unit belongs to before the auction, so just doing a little internet sleuth work could give you hints whether the locker may or may not be good

Not bored, just want to see if it is worth my time and effort. If it is, maybe I'll make a business out of it, and if not well, I will have tried.

Way ahead of you man, found that tip on a storage auction forum about a month ago. You know how many days before an auction the storage unit has to give legal notice?

Did my first auctions today! Actually it was tons of fun, if not for anything more then people watching!

Didn't get a locker mostly because 3 of the 13 or so up for auction were Hoarder specials(I promise photo's next time, trust me they are worth it) and about 8 more had f'ing bed frames or furniture that right now I don't have room to store.

Lots of bidders, but bidding wasn't super crazy.

I'm watching storage wars now, and I'm sorry but that Brandi chick has a nice rack going on.
