And I know on the Auction Hunters show they had someone come in to buy something after they cleaned it up and the person didn't actually buy it, but they had the guy act like he did purchase it for the cameras. So it looked like they made a big profit when in reality they thought the item was worth way more than it was/is and didn't sell it.

Another thing to remember, for some people this is a hobby, like golf would be for some other people. For the ones who truly enjoy this, they will learn what to bid on and what not to bid on. Just as in any sport or hobby you usually get better as you do the activity time after time.

true that, but this show is not very good. After reading up on it, apparently this is the second time they've produced the show, just under a different name. TruTV saw how popular Auction Hunters and Storage Wars has been for their respective series, so they just repackaged a show they had previously (with same auctioneer and buyers) produced but failed miserably with.
