Mike was predicting that the Tigers had interest in Renteria and was endorsing the deal because it would have gotten Guillen out of the SS position. When it went down, Mike had a pornographic orgasm all over the studio because his prediction was correct. I remember them making fun of Caputo because Caputo was pissed they traded Jurgens. Caputo’s argument was that they just made a road trip to Atlanta and Renteria did nothing notable in the series. It’s funny now that whenever Jurgens’ name is brought up on the air, Mike acts like he was totally against the trade from the beginning.

I just traded him away as well in my fantasy league but I landed Fielder and Hanley for him... To bad the Tigers didnt land that type of return for him...

He also said that they should erect a statue of Dombrowsi and it was the best deal he ever made. He dismissed JJ as a run of the mill right hander & the key to the deal was Gorkyz Hernandez.
