Sorry, I just disagree..There is no way Urban is going to lock down Ohio like Tressel did.Dont see it..Im not saying he is not a good recruiter or a good coach..Im just taking the wait and see approach before anointing him anything based off of the SEC..Because so far his choices as coaches under him are not very inspiring..He has no strong,Mullen,Mattison..He left florida with not the greatest amt of talent...So im just waiting before anointing him anything here in the Big ten.

Nothing wrong with the wait-n-see approach, but all that I know is that he's been coach for a week, and he has locked down Schutt, and Pittman, will lock down Dodson and Spence, and could snag Jordan Diamond. I can't help but wonder what a full recruiting cycle will be like.

I give him no credit for Shutt as the PSU situation set that off and ND or Michigan said No thanks...And to be honest, it just seemed like Pittman was really wanting to go there..The others, Meh...On Diamond, he may go there and if he does, good luck to him..Michigan still has just as good as shot with him,and the other 2 big OL..So Im not worried there.
Also, the situation with Dunn for me is this...This kid LOVES O$U..The hiring of Meyer and the spread has turned him off..But Meyer is Lying to his face talking about never had a big kid, we will run some pro set bull**** and he is listening to that..Dunn will end up @ O$U IMO and will never be what he wants to be..Because Meyer does not run the ball like he wants.
I know im in the minority..And ill sit here by myself...But IMO, Urban will not live up to Tressel and what he was there.

Well MSU has really done nicely in Ohio for the past several years. They've also done well in Michigan, beating UM the past few years. So now what?
And for the record, I'm leaning towards TommyZ's take on this.
Sure, Urb will get his. But Tressel had a better grasp in Ohio. He came in at Ohio State, already having a lay of the land and established networks from being at Youngstown State. Urb ties aren't as recent.
The spread offense may deter some recruits as well.
And I think it's a good point about his lack of quality assistants. As we've seen with Dan Enos, Greg Mattison, et. al., your asst. coaches are the one's that establish the bonds and lay the groundwork, and usually the head coach is the closer.
One last point: I'd argue that a strong staff at UM with a resurgent OSU is good for both programs. It's about time these traditional powers rise up, and start to challenge the SEC's dominance in college football.
