Yeah, I think Ive read his dad posts on ND message boards. 247 had an article in the past few days that seemed pretty pro ND imo. Maybe it was slanted but I think ND is probably the leader.

I'll continue this conversation in the Elmer thread with what he said about each school in that article...

He said great things about MSU and UM in that article too. The article was definitely slanted, as the writer Steve Wiltfong is a ND slappdick who mainly writes for Blue&Gold illustrated.

Here is what he said about MSU and UM:

MSU: “My mom went there and we’ve always been Spartans fans growing up. It’s nice and close to home. A lot of people from my school go to Michigan State. It’s a great place too. I’ve been to a few games there, not for football recruiting stuff, but I’ve been to a couple games before and it’s a good game-day crowd.”

UM: “The Big House was really, really cool,” he said. “That’s a big thing there. Brady Hoke seems like he’s going to get things back to the way they should be at Michigan. That’s a big plus too. They have an unbelievable fan base at Michigan.”

He may indeed be a ND lean right now, but there is definitely work to be done by all schools in this kid's recruitment.

    Thanks Knuckles.

Did you notice how he said he would visit ND for 2 games and UM for one but not MSU?

I think it will come down to ND/MSU and he might make it to an MSU game but that article however slanted wasnt encouraging.

I think I read somewhere he is planning on deciding after his junior year. If thats the case there is still some time but not that much.

Didnt MSU stop recruiting OT's after Kieler because of Elmer, Bosch and Norman?

Its a strong theory, considering we were slated to sake two, then overnight were slated to take one (Kieler). Personally, I think Norman is a silent commit, or close to it. Not sure why else the staff would take that gamble.

Also, I wouldn't read too much into who's games he makes it to. As he said, he has been to tons of MSU games as a fan, so it's only natural that he would want to take in games from other schools he didn't grow up going to.

I'm just looking forward to him being on the ND sideline in South Bend when MSU wins there yet again. If MSU is in the conversation for the B1G title game, as expected (by me anyways), I like our chances.

Im responding to something knucks posted in the Boesch thread

Its still hard for me to see how Elmer is better than Dillard...ONly reason im saying this, when I have looked at Elmer's vid, he seems good..When I saw Dillard in person, he was just as good BUT did it against much better competition..Now, Midland does play some good teams..But the talent difference IMO, is quite a bit better...It just seems Elmer blew up in Camps...But that could also just be my thing..Im not a big believer in camp performances..

What you're saying has merit. Elmer certainly blew up this summer, but understand that he was going up against some of the best guys in the country at those camps. Coaches see his foot-speed and strength against BCS level kids (who are a year older) in 1on1's, and they proceed to drool. If Andrew Maxwell turns out being as good as all the coaches and MSU press says he is, then I have no problems bringing in another Chemic.

FWIW, Jim Stefani who works with mulitple schools identifying underclass talent was saying Elmer and Morris were 1a 1b in the state before the camp circut. Obviously, it is just one guys opinion but his stuff is normally really good. You can check out Jim's blog here.

This kids is torn between is Mother's alum MSU, and his fathers love of ND.

Watch him end up in the SEC, just to please everyone.

    2 things:

    1) Elmer went to camps. They may be equally as talented (I don't think they are), but Elmer's offer list illustrates how important camps have become.
    2) Elmer projects to a premium position. At his current height, Dillard projects to guard or maybe right tackle if he gains a few inches.

I like Jim Stefani..he does an awesome job..And like I said, I know camps are important..Im just not a big fan of it because its not real football..When I see Elmer beating on some kid from Saginaw it looks nice..When I see Dillard beating on Brennan Beyer, it stands out to me...

Elmer could be better..Who knows..I just feel Dillard is vastly under rated
