Please feed Bisping to Sonnen. Sonnen will own him in and out of the cage.
Do you mean because of the knee?
I am not really reading too much into it. I actually buy Bispings explanation.
Having said that, I thought this was a overall poor showing by Bisping.
This was the slowest I've seen him, and I think he forgot that he has one of the better jabs in the UFC.
The knee, acting like he did after the fight... It was all kind of disappointing to me.
Bisping showed his true colors last night. What a piece of ****. The intentional illegal knee, then the classless actions after the fight.
And if anyone says that illegal knee wasn't intentional, you're lying to yourself. He grabbed him in a Muay Thai style behind-the-head clinch and hit him with the knee. That was 100% intentional.
Bisping needs to be put in his place. I agree with the poster who said 'Feed him to Sonnen.' Sonnen would murder him. Or, hell, since they'll apparently give anyone a title shot at 185( see Vitor Belfort) give him to Anderson Silva.
I'm not lying to myself, I just tend to give fighters the benefit of the doubt in situations like that.
The sport is so fast, if you have seen it live, you really understand that, and some guys that mean well, sometimes do really stupid things in the heat and speed of the moment.
I'm not saying that he accidentally hit him or anything, I'm saying that he just made a mistake.
I highly doubt that Bispings plan was to knee him illegally.
As for the other stuff, what specifically are you referencing?
I usually like the arrogant guys but between the knee and the antics after the fight... that just seemed like it crossed a line. Like when guys like Chael or Kos are total ******** it seems like a show. It seemed to me that you saw that Bisping is genuinely a ******** last night. The knee is what it is, whether it was purposeful or not seems pointless to argue. If the fight would have ended there he would have lost, deservingly. But I do buy that he was just amped up and was looking to throw it as soon as Rivera got off his knees and timed it poorly. But going back at the guy after you TKO'd him, after he agreed to continue the fight even after the knee and to go at him in such a mean spirited way... that's just not fun for anybody. It might seem hypocritical because I love Chael but I feel like there's a clear difference between pre and post fight actions/sentiments.
Also, can we talk about how stupid it is to have the ref ask a fighter if he can continue after something like that? What fighter worth anything is going to say no even if he was capable of appropriately addressing the damage he had absorbed within seconds of it happening? This guy's been training for months and talking ****, etc and he's going to say no? Of course not.
I realize I'm putting this here for you to read... but please, don't talk about it.
Right, do you mean him going and yelling at Rivera?
If so, I tend to agree, I don't like that either.
Bisping did apologize at his news conference, and that Rivera's comments on his family, made him get a little out of control.
With that being said, for the most part, I don't pick and choose fighters based on what they are like outside of the cage, so I'm not super pissed about what he did.
The thing that annoys me the most is Bisping has been known to talk alot of smack himself so when someone does it to him, he flies off the handle and can't take it. He doesn't have to shake hands after the fight but spitting on Rivera's corner is unacceptable and almost as bad as Daley punching Koscheck after the fight.
