Recruiting discussions have a tendency to be creepy enough on their own. Arguing about what's on a kid's report card sends this over the edge.
True. I only reiterated what has been said on here. The sad truth is that kids like him and others with worse grades (and situations) will find their way into colleges that your average kid with similar grades/situation would get passed over. And it goes to other athletes too. A buddy of mine has a son who plays at Rockford. Big kid, like 6 foot, 220, LB. Has a 3.5, 24 on his ACT. Schools are telling him he doesn't have the grades to play for them.
Huh?!!!!

I think you'd get in as an athlete with that stuff.... that's pretty respectable on its own, with athletics you'd prettty easily make it in. Obviously you would know a lot more about Hillsdale admissions, but I'm pretty sure that'd get you in. The few guys I know that are student-athletes at Hillsdale couldn't have had a GPA/ACT combination any better than that.
Admissions would go over your transcripts with a fine-toothed comb for a 3.5 and 24. Maybe if you had taken AP and College credit courses they'd make an exception. But if those scores came in basic English and Science, then no, you're not getting in.
Best example I can give you - a couple years ago the basketball coach had to fight tooth and nail with the admissions to get a kid in. He had a 3.4 GPA and a 26 ACT. Finally the admissions gave in because the coach was new and really needed a full roster. Coach was then told not to bring any more kids in with those credentials.
Basically, to get into Hillsdale as a student-athlete, one must posess at least a 3.6 and a 27 on ACT, regular students are 3.8+ and a 30+.
