I think both O'Brien and Godin are blue. I also think Laron Taylor will be Blue too.
This next class is ridiculous. Michigan could easily take 10-12 guys from in-state. I think that is pretty unprecedented.
tommy, what do you think about Godin wrt his position? I've heard some say DT, others OT.
I think Godin will be a DT...He has a motor just like Martin, imo....You may be right on O'Brien...But I dont think Michigan will go hard at him for some reason...Maybe im 100% wrong..
I also cant see Michigan taking that many...I dont think they ever have taken that many..Also, MSU is a much better place than it used to be as far as being a good program
"People who drink light "beer" don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee a lot."
Both of them are just elite, 250 type defenders. Michigan needs to land them.
Things could move quickly with Michigan's 2012 class if Hoke plays this right. That is, hold a junior day by the end of the month. Offer the kids that deserve them in-state (RJS, Richardson, Godin, Burbidge, O'Brien, Ross, Norfleet). Michigan may have already offered these guys, but Michigan needs to cement these offers and make these prospects know that Michigan still wants them badly. Then they've got a guy like Jordan Diamond who would commit if they held a junior day that went well...
I'm wondering if UM's glut of young Linebackers might hurt their chances with Ross or Jenkins-Stone? In the last two years, they've signed like 10 guys who might play LB:
Marvin Robinson
Josh Furman
Jake Ryan
Jordan Paskorz
Brennen Beyer
Frank Clark
Kellen Jones
Desmond Morgan
Antonio Poole
And possibly Willingham. I know several of these kids will probably move around, but if I'm a young LB prospect, I might be inclined to look elsewhere.
I think you'll see that group thin out considerably under Hoke and Mattison. Robinson and Furman probably move back to safety. I could see Paskorz and Beyer being DEs, same with Ryan.
That leaves Clark, Poole, Morgan, and Jones. Clark and Poole are outside guys and Jones and Morgan ILBs.
Still a lot, but not as many as you'd think.
