Blue-chip QB Gunner Kiel in town
Gunner Kiel, one of the top QB recruits for the Class of 2012, reportedly is making an unofficial visit to OU this weekend with his parents.
Kiel, out of Columbus (Ind.) East High School, is on the Rivals250 and ESPNU 150 watch lists, and is a 4-star prospect according to Scout.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Kiel, who already holds offers from OU, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin, threw for 2,645 yards and 36 touchdowns last season. So far, Kiel is believed to be the only quarterback OU has offered a scholarship to.

    Gunner Kiel:

In what is shaping up to be a fantastic year for quarterbacks, Kiel gets the first nod as the best of the bunch. With good size, a strong arm, a quick release and good accuracy, Kiel has all of the tools. But he also has the intangibles.

Kiel is a competitive, physical kid who can take a hit, deliver a hit and make plays with his feet if necessary. He exhibits the same kind of play-making ability that has been Andrew Luck’s signature over the past two seasons at Stanford. With elite quarterbacks like Zeke Pike, Jameis Winston, Connor Brewer and others in the class of 2012, Kiel will need all of those competitive juices to maintain the top spot.

The fact that the top quarterback in the country happens to live in Indiana and also has family ties to the Irish is a pretty good bit of luck for the Irish

Per Allen Trieu''s twitter, he visited Michigan today.

That's a big visit, but everything I've read says he is Oklahoma's to lose at this point.

Surprised a visit like this was kept quiet for so long. A 5* Qb doesn't generally just pop in for a visit without being big news.

Still an uphill battle, but its a starting point

    Missouri, Oklahoma, Michigan and Alabama

Oklahoma-Michigan battle it looks to be. (most likely Oklahoma, but rumblings about Michigan are becoming more prevalent)

I think Missouri also has a shot with them getting a visit today.

A lot of times decisions like these come down to depth charts and playing time.

Oklahoma is definitely his favorite, but some of the experts think if anyone has a shot to pull him from OU its Mich. Get him on campus... see what happens.
