MSU adding Lansing Catholic WR Matt Macksood as preferred walk-on. Kid hauled in 166 catches the past two years in Catholic's pass happy offense.

Love it as a Lansing Catholic alum. My buddy is on the coaching staff there, and all he kept saying is that Cooper Rush was awesome, but he basically owes his scholarship to Macksood. He said the kid is amazing.

MSU adds JUCO TE Jamare Mills to 2012 class. No idea anything about him except that he visited for the spring game & must have committed while there.

Mills has 3 years of playing eligibility too. Good pickup since there's nothing behind Dion Sims there. Especially since RS Fr Paul Lang may be a medical DQ.

    Should actually be 2 years.

Wow. If it is 3 years, very strange.

Not really. Just meant the kid went to JUCO for one year. MSU actually has a recent history of bringing on JUCOs with 3 years of eligibility:
    WR Devin Thomas (2006)
    DT Michael Jordan (2007)
    DT Anthony Rashad White (2010)

Just strange because its usually two years in JUCO. Guess he didn't need that many credits.

MSU picked up 3 commits from the state of Illinois over the past week or so:
    OL Chase Gianacakos
    C Brian Allen
    DT Enoch Smith Jr.
All 3 are pretty much 3 star kids across the board. Most have decent offers elsewhere (Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Va Tech, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Kansas, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Cincinnati) but nothing great. Smith Jr. is the only one who had the ND offer & Allen had the Va Tech offer. Allen is the younger brother of RS Soph C/G Jack Allen. Interesting to see MSU make that much of a dent in Illinois (half of their 2014 commits are from Ill). I think Dan Roushar was the main recruiter for that area in the past.

If Ill could recruit their own state, they could probably field a top 15 team.
