I have never been to PSU but I assume he probably likes the less crowded area of Mount Pleasant. I think kids really do not favor Big 10 and other big schools like they used to.

I remember 2 years ago some kid choose GVSU over Western. So that basically shows they do not care that much about where they go as long as they can win.

Psu is in the middle of nowhere

I did not know that but 96,000 kids attend PSU. At Central Michigan its only 29,000.

There are like twenty satellite campuses thoughout the state. Probably half are in happy valley

Thats what I mean the population in the HV is more but he went to a camp when school was out. So he must no be basing the decision off of that.

sometimes going to a great D2 is better than going to a crappy D1

To me its about winning that kid assumed he would win a lot more at GVSU than his only offer, Western.

Kids may think Central Michigan will win more than Penn State. Which really is not right or wrong. Because Penn State probably will go 7-5 if best. Central in the coming years very well could go 13-0 heading into bowl week. I think Toledo and Central Michigan are going to rise above MAC schools because they by recruit and find talent the best.

Toledo also had two elite transfers, the Haden brothers. Plus they got Eric Page best freshman WR and best KR as a sophomore.

7-5 in the big 10 > 13-0 at a MAC school....Its not even close

The western and gvsu is a good example. Its safe to say MAC > GLIAC ?

The kid still choose the GLiAC, most of these kids have a pretty good understanding that they wont be a pro athlete. So they choose a place where they can simply win more.

If people want to win or have a chance at a National Championship, they will pick GVSU over some MAC teams (especially Eastern )...But you cannot compare a Big Ten team to MAC....99.9% of kids will choose Big Ten... JMO..
