Lou has the weakest resume of the three mentioned, but he does have a strong case.

I'm fine with somebody saying that Lou's not a HOFer. The fact that he didn't make it past the first ballot is criminal.

It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to let my team do that."

just as long as they remember this disdain when people like ARod, Giambi, Sheffield, Pudge, David Ortiz and Magglio are eligible for the HOF...

    I have a feeling they won't.

You are right. The biggest problem for all the Tigers is that they played in Detroit. If Trammel and Whitaker played in New York they would be gods

5 years, 2 Championships and his own self professed desire to go in as a Jay should clinch it

if whitaker played 3 more years to equal morgan in years played he probably would have surpassed him in hits, rbi, homeruns and an outside chance at runs all while being a better fielder. im not a WAR guy but his was 7th best of all players from 1970-2000 so i read.

When it's a toss-up, I think guys should be able to choose their "hat" in the HOF.

To Quote Brandon Tierney . . . "the Hall of Fame, should be the Hall of Fame, no mediocre players, no good players; elite, top of the line players only."

I would go through the Baseball and Football hall of fames and clean house, too many mediocres in both.

Hall of Famers, Alomar, okay . . Joe Morgan, Okay . . Ty Cobb, Okay . .. Dale Murphy (my favorite player as a kid) NOOO

    Dale Murphy Nooo
    Mike Mussina Noooo
    Steroid Cheaters Noooooooooo
    Folks who only DH'd . . Noooooo

Of the two, the NFL does the best job of keeping mediocre players out . . . heck, Jim Plunkett is a HOFer in my book and he's not in!!! It took forever for Art Monk to get in!!!

I don't know if that is true. The Mets have had a bunch of good players who are NOT HOFers, Yankees have had good players who haven't made HOF.

The Yankees, most of them, who have made the HOF are freaking awesome.

    DiMaggio
    Mantle

and the Executioners of Jeter, Posada and Mariano Rivera along with Joe Torre are walking into the Hall of Fame. Pettitte (sp?) is a steroid cheater and stunk without the Yankees big bats. Chuck Knobloch and Louis Soho are not Hall of Famers and never will be. I also think Paul O' Neil may get in, but he also won a world series with the Reds.

The problems I have with Trammel and Whitaker and many of the 84 Tigers is they only won "one" world series, if they had won a second they would be automatic.

and of course despite his high ERA, Jack Morris should be in.
