    I'm saying the NBA did protect MJ. They allowed him to "retire" and come back with no more mention of the investigation. Just like by saying that Favre was "injured" last week the NFL protected Favre. If you believe that everything is out in the open then we are wasting each other's time in discussing this further.

    Alright, now I'm confused dude and I didn't mean things don't happen behind closed doors nowadays, just that it was easier to get away with something like that 15-20 years ago compared to media scrutiny of today.

    His "retirement" was an unspoken suspension.....at least part of it.
