The investigation was dropped after he retired. Are you trying to say there wasn't a investigation going on about Jordan's gambling at the time? I'm not even trying to say there was a conspiracy with NBA officials to why MJ retired, more that he was worried about what the investigation might find, but you believing he never really filied retirement papers makes it even more fishy actually. And why do you think the NBA wouldn't do the same thing you are accusing the NFL of doing? You keep avoiding any mention of Favre now.

So, the NBA wouldn't privately end an investigation and allow a player to come back after he left the game, but the NFL would and would have a player sit out one game like nothing ever happened?

No, if they had reason to investigate they wouldn't just end the investigation and let him come back without revisiting it.

And, I've already said that the NFL will announce a punishment after the season is over. Some sort of fine or make him attend a "workplace rule" workshop or something like that.
