FF is random enough without the randomness of your opponent coming into play.

Right, this is why I like Wayne, I dont want to go into the playoffs week 1 with a great team and lose b.c my team has a down week. I try and get guys that are consistent as well. ie Wayne at the WR spot he is consistent and can be counted on each and every week and will have about the same #s at the end of the year as the rest of the greats. A guy like D. Jackson will have 2 MONSTER weeks and then have a few where you get 2-3 pts and F your week up. At the end of the year though both will have about the same pts but the consistency is what makes Wayne a lot better IMO.

The 8 team thing is one thing, but having 6 of them make the playoffs?

First and second teams get byes first round. I don't think it's absurd. And it's start 2 QBs. Only place where the 8 team league thing gets a little stupid is with WRs.

So far this year Wayne's production is inflated by one monster 200 yard game though.

I'll modify what I said. I don't like SUPER volatile players, but I don't "seek" consistency over production.

This is the screwiest league I have ever heard of. I thought the league voting on allowing trades the other day was odd, but all this takes the cake.

We lowered to 150 this year I think, which isn't even high. Problem is all of my friends are already in multiple leagues, so apparently adding on another for 150 is rich.
