    I had a buddy who went through something along these lines.... and he didn't even need to move. They just made a bad decision when buying a house, so they took advantage of the system. Really kind of pisses me off, to be honest.

    I have a friend who has a mortgage with Citi, I gave him the number that I posted a couple page back on this site. They said he needs to provide them with all income and expenses info (even car insurance and grocery expenses) to determine the amount, if any, of his principal reduction. So at least it sounds like Citi has something in the works there.
