Sorry to hear this Kathi, it is hard when you hear good friends pass away at just a young age.
Theres a hard life for every silver spoon. Theres a touch of gray for every shade of blue. That's the way that I see life. If there was nothing wrong there'd be nothing right.
Thanks everyone....This one just truly hurts!!!

My condolences Kathy. Sudden deaths like that are so hard to take.
I called a buddy out of the blue last week and found out he's riddled with cancer. Agent Orange-related from Vietnam. He's older than me, late 50s, but was the first person that gave me a shot out as an artist coming out of college, hiring me to do an illustration for the Detroit News. Kind of a mentor to me, stood up in my wedding even.
These things make us realize our own mortality hitting so close to home. It's another lesson in reaching out to your friends, loved one, et al, because there's no promise on tomorrow.

My condolences, Kathi. I lost my mom at age 32. It's way too young.
went through the same thing this past week Kathi, ironically it was my uncle named Larry that died from a massive heart attack, so I know the pain you're going through.

First of all, Kathi, many condoloences to you for the loss of your friend.
Motorcityjoe, I can empathize with you on your friend. My brother has been fighting lung cancer for the last 5 yrs and it's agent orange related. He too fought in Nam, USMC at Khe Sanh. He's had all the radiation he can have and has had plenty of chemo and the tumor did not go away but, it did not grow, either. Now, he's doing a clinical study at U-M for a new cancer fighting drug to see if that works. And tomorrow morning, my wifes brother is undergoing risky surgery to see if they can cut out the cancer that had wrapped itself around a lung and other parts of his body. They don't even know if he's strong enough to get through it but, he says he has to try.
