Default Is this a man or a woman's job?

    Wanted to share this story...

I'm getting radiation done....To ensure that you only radiate within a certain field, they strap this huge metal block into this machine.

Long story short, this block weighs 62 lbs. The thing is a monstrosity.

Yesterday, I go in and these two petite girls are the techs for the day. Because this thing is so huge, they obviously can't lift it by themselves. Soaking wet, they weigh about a buck, 20 each.

So instead of being there for about 10 minutes, an appointment would take about twice as long because they have to move the machine to a point where they don't have to lift it very high.

I honestly felt sorry for them. They are the nicest girls in the world but truly, should they even be in this job?

They can't perform the duties normally or at the very least like any capable male can.

Aren't there certain jobs reserved for men and women?

    are you sick?

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

As long as the person, male or female, can handle the day to day aspect of a job, they can have it.

In your case, could they handle it...kind of...together almost...somewhat a gray area

"We react to war in this way because everyone has a right to his own life, because war puts an end to human lives that are full of hope, because it brings individual men into humiliating situations, because it compels them against their will to murder other men, and because it destroys precious material objects which have been produced by labors of humanity". fair point...with the two of them there, they can handle it...

    But at what cost?

Say the hospital schedules 6 patients an hour normally...now they schedule 3?

Pretty sure cost-benefit analysis of that wouldn't be in their favor

not to mention having to pay two people instead of 1 (assuming this is something that can usually be handled by just 1 person?)

not sure it is a gender specific issue.
having seen pictures posted on this web-site - I'd say diddy was a match for those petite chicks; do you think he could move that machine?

ps - good luck with the de-hulkification!
I don't post very often, but when I do it is meaningless

    Stay thirsty, my friends!
