It's been nearly a year since anyone has mentioned the software they use for Twitter (tweetdeck, etc). Are those still recommended or has something better come along?

I'm taking on a volunteer role that requires me to do some twitter-ing...

I use Hootsuite for clients because it provides the ability track stats without paying for it.

HootSuite, users can manage multiple Twitter profiles with multiple editors on each, schedule tweets, track stats, RSS their content, and more.

TweetDeck has the ability to group people together and search across the twittersphere. Grouping friends or work colleagues separately means you have a window on all aspects of your twitter life

Thanks, I've just begun using HootSuite and it seems to be most appropriate for what I'm doing. I'm volunteering for a group that's looking for more exposure and has a lot of good information to pass along.

While I will be monitoring some tweets that others are doing, that is not the main purpose. I want to track what I'm doing for efficiency sake, plus schedule tweets since I do not have the time to tweet for this multiple times a day. However, the prospects of setting up 2-3 days worth of tweets at one time is exactly what I need.

Tweetdeck is the best IMO. I love it... Phone use: Seesmic on Droid and Ubertwitter on Blackberry

As much as I mock the social networking sites. I kind of like this twitter thing. There is just something about having the Sheik tweet between dylan ratigan and chuck todd that is refreshing
