Default WVU sues Rodriguez for $4M

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3170410

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia University's Board of Governors is suing former football coach Rich Rodriguez to collect a $4 million buyout of his contract with the school.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in Monongalia County Circuit Court, states the university believes Rodriguez doesn't intend to abide by the contract.

The buyout clause requires Rodriguez to pay $4 million to West Virginia over a two-year period, with one-third of the total due 30 days after his employment's termination. His resignation was effective Dec. 19.

Rodriguez's agent, Mike Brown, declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Rodriguez went to Michigan after seven seasons in Morgantown, where he led West Virginia to four Big East championships and a 60-26 record.

As far as contract law is concerned this is a good one. You have RichRod's eluding to unsatisfied inducements for his contract extension....and you have WVU's expectation of the contract 'as written' being fulfilled. I'm eager to see how this turns out.

Yeah it will be interesting. Especially if one or more of the WVU Boosters testify on behave of RichRod.

Yeah. I know a lil bit about how The Law reads. I just think it's hysterical how hypocritical that F#$Ktard who previously coached @ WVU has turned out to be. I'm not necessarily knocking him for leaving there. It's a sh#thole and nothing but a bunch of backwoods mountain folks who come down to "Town" once a season when it's not CFB time. I don't believe the idiots who say he was "Made" by that "QB" who is more brittle than cracked glass or even a pop tart. Not to mention, all that "Talent" he had to work with. Yeah, okayyyy. Not so much, Much? Anywho, this is about how he's pretty much turned into a bigger POS than I thought any "Michigan Man" could ever be. Values. Nope. Doesn't have those. Integrity. Negative again. He's getting what he had coming. Period. wishagain as well.

its funny, you say you know how "The Law" reads, but you give no evidence as to why this is so cut & dry, you just spew your nonsense in that ***gity green font.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

Yep, sure, it's a cut and dry case. Just like the lady who sued McDonalds for burning herself with coffee. Everyone thought she was going to get laughed out of court. Too bad she won. McDonalds was keeping their coffee at an extreme temp (just below boiling) and were found liable for the damages.

Never say never on these types of cases. It's all in the wording of the entire contract.

I'm sure some type of settlement will come out before this goes to trial.
