And there is a difference between going to a club and looking for trouble. The point is, it seems that being a professional athlete is becoming more and more of a target and it's not just the guys that are at a club.

To say a guy can't go to a club without the risk of being shot at is ridiculous. Tinsley doesn't deserve the blame the idiots who shot at him for having a nice car do.
I realize I'm putting this here for you to read... but please, don't talk about it.

i agree, but driving a Bentley says you have $$...not the smart move in my opinion with the recent change of criminals targeting professional athletes...i don't think he was asking for it, but it screams "look at me, i've got money"

Tiger Woods has gobs of money and drives around in expensive cars and doesnt' get shot at ? Alex Rodriguez has gobs of money and drives around in expensive cars and doesn't get shot at ?? Shaq O'Neil has gobs of money and drives around in expensive cars and doesn't get shot at ???

So is the problem having gobs of money and expensive cars..

or is it where you go with your expensive cars and who you and your gobs of money hang around with.. and when you do it and where you do it at ?

That's a flawed comparison. Guys like Tiger Woods, Shaq and A Rod are virtually unable to go anywhere without being mobbed. Jamal Tinsley could likely walk through a mall on a Saturday and be unrecognized except for a few die hard fans.

I agree. I can't believe anyone would be defending Tinsley on this. He hasn't earned benefit of the doubt and I don't care if he was minding his own business. He's made a habit of putting himself at risk.

    * He was present when Stephen Jackson let off a few rounds outside that strip club.

    * He and Marquis Daniels have an upcoming court date from a bar fight which happened this past February.

    * Now for his latest act he magically turned his Rolls-Royce into swiss cheese and the Pacers equipment manager has a brand new pair of see-through elbows.

Whatever he's doing right now isn't working. Time to make better decisions.

well, some believed Sean Taylor didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt when his life was hanging in the balance and no one knew the who or why...until the facts come out. He is a victim, period. and shouldn't be treated as a suspect when there are idiots out there who are jealous.

Taylor didn't deserve benefit of the doubt either, but his situation was different. Taylor was in his home minding his own business.

Tinsley has a history of getting into problems while going out. I don't care if none of them were his fault, it's obvious he isn't making good decisions of where to be and who to hang with.

guys were hassling him because of his wealth...Taylor did deserve the benefit of the doubt as a victim, we are in thsi rush-to-judgment society where we have to have answers every minute but we don't, DJ. If he's out, enjoying life as a human being, not bothering anybody, then he shouldn't be hassled because of what car he's driving. Who was he with that was dangerous? He wasn't targetedd because of who he was with, he was targeted because of the jersey he wears 82 games out the year and he shouldn't stop living. Now, hire adequate security, yes. Live in secrecy, no

If you can go out and stay out of trouble there is no problem. Tinsley has proven he cannot avoid trouble.

He has to accept responsibility for repeatedly making poor choices and putting himself in bad positions.
