I think that's where a lot of teams make mistakes. You take the best player that fits what you're looking for and never look back. If you make a mistake, then so be it.
Too many teams become gun shy because of past mistakes beyond their control.
Unless the guy comes in with a wheel chair and says he may never walk again, injuries are something that you can't predict. You check his history, if there isn't anything there, then you have no way of knowing what the future holds.
The article said Oden got tired and missed a lot of easy shots, does that come as a surprise? His offensive game is definitely still developing and conditioning is something he can work on. These workouts don't allow players to display their defensive skills. Greg Oden will be just as, if not more valuable, on the defensive end of the court. Non story to me.
To win championships in the NBA you need a dominant big man... Oden to the Blazers.
