Seems like this was to just clear up a roster spot for Kenny Rogers and keep Ledezma away from the AL. If they designated Ledezma for assignment another team would have grabbed him.

There is a big possibility that this kid stays on the team and Seay is demoted.

not a bad move but would have rather seen them package him with a few more pieces to get someone better, someone better all around that isnt only a guy that is going to pitch maybe 15 total innings the rest of the year. But never the less they got a guy they feel can come in and take a lefty out with a few on in the 7th or 8th and 2 outs to preserve a small lead.

Im still mixed on the trade. I was a big Ledezma fan and believe he is better than either Maroth or Durbin..With that said, when it comes to pitching, Ill take Dombrowski's word

I have no problem with the move. Never had any confidence in Ledezma; seems to be a 5.00+ guy...and I think we've seen enough to make that decision. McBride is a couple years younger and is solid against lefties.

Agree on Maroth. I would've much rather dealt MM for this bullpen help, but I doubt he carries the value that Willy does.

It'll be real interesting to see how the pitching staff gets shifted around over the next couple weeks.

Here is a little more insight from a chat by Keith Law of ESPN:

Vito Chirco(Clinton Township, MI): How good is Mcay McBRide , the guy that the Tigers just acquired?

Keith Law: (2:20 PM ET ) Lefty specialist who's always had iffy control and who's really lost the strike zone this year. I'd rather have Ledezma, especially for the long term.

...seems like the consensus everywhere is why Ledezma?? But I do trust DD an awful lot...

Once again, they didn't do this for a prospect, the did it to clear up a roster spot for Kenny to come back so that they could keep Durbinator up. Ledezma didn't have an option to go back down to the minors because he was a rule five pick, but this guy does, so I expect him to go down when they take Kenny off the DL.

If Mcbride can fit Jaime Walker role The tigers have been searching for that all season long
