IMO steak does something different to me than ground beef. Maybe it's because they tend to throw a lot of scrap and crap meat in with the ground beef, I dunno. But the ground beef always makes me feel sorta sick, and bloated.

My wife cut out red meat because of problems with gout, and we don't eat it at home any more. Which is nice because we used to eat it all the time, tacos, sloppy joes, grilled burgers, etc. I gave up fast food for lent so I haven't had any of that in a while either. I don't miss it at all.

Great post-workout shake/smoothie. 2 scoops whey protein (natural/vanilla), 8oz milk, 1/2 cup apple sauce, chopped up apple, sliced banana, 1tbspn cinnamon, scoop of plain greek yogurt. Blend that sht up and serve it cold. Can't taste the whey and it goes down easy.

I had a blood test done on Tuesday am. Yearly thing for my thyroid and cholesterol. My triglycerides have been high in the past, and as I understand it that's an effect of having too much glucose in the blood sugar regularly.

I've been working out like a madman for about a month now, and doing the low carb diet for almost 3 weeks. Watching my sugar, insulin spikes, etc.

The test comes back and my tri's are fine, but the hdl levels are low. And my thyroid count is too high as well. The doctor calls me today and tells me I need more exercise, 30 min a day 4 times a week min. I tell him I'm doing twice if not 3 times that much. He's like "hmm, that's strange." I'm like no fcuk. So he wants to testme again in a month. So now I have no idea what to think.

I guess I have to eat more good fats. I have been limiting my fat intake, and I guess I need more 'good' fats. My problem is my nut allergy, a lot of good fats come from nuts. I already take fish oil for Omega 3. I dunno what else to do.

The thyroid thing is a pain too, he's going to up my meds. That keeps my metabolism low and I have to fight that all the time.

olive oil, fish, and avocados are great sources of good fat if you cant eat nuts.

I think so. Like sunflower seeds? No problems.

I don't know what's so funny about a nut allergy. If anything you think a guy would want to stay away from nuts. You all are the ones with nuts in your mouth.
