It would be great to land Finley!

I spoke with someone in the league and they said Michael Finley probably will sign with the Miami Heat, making them a little bit stronger. The warm weather and power of Shaq is going to be tough for him to turn down. The Pistons are working it but it appears as if they will finish second in the Finley sweepstakes. If that happens Sprewell here we come.
Everybody get your neck collars.
**** Miami would be awfully scary on paper with Finley. It still remains to be seen how the will work together.
I would love for Finley to come here.
I know he went to Wisconsin, is that where he grew up?
If so maybe he would like to have the winter months (I know probably wishful thinking).
Finley will never get the ball,Remember Antoine"ballhog"Walker is there.....
"People who drink light "beer" don't like the taste of beer; they just like to pee a lot."
Finley went to Proviso East (Shannon and Dee Brown) and had a great team with Donnie Boyce (U of Colorado) and Sherell Ford (Illinois Chicago).
So he is a midwest guy.

I figuired that MIA would get Finley....though I wouldnt put it past Dumars and co. to land him still.Originally Posted by TerryFoster
The only silver lining of Fin heading to Miami over Detroit is that will all but exhaust MIA's money to add additional pieces. Zo is going to play, but MIA will have a huge hole at backup PG. That will likely take Damon Jones out of the mix for sure, and MIA is going to struggle to find a suitable replacement player in what was already a weak grouping of PG free agents. They better hope that Williams can play mega-minutes. Williams split minutes with Earl Watson last season (Watson getting most the crunch time minutes) for a reason....
Wade can slide to the PG spot at times, Finley to the 2 and Posey in at the 3, but I am sure MIA would prefer to keep Wade primarily at the 2 this year.
It would be hard for Finley to start there too. He wouldnt start for Detroit of course, but I think that we are a better option.Originally Posted by tommyz
Antoine Walker was with him in Dallas for a while. Why would he want to play with him again???
It has always seemed to me that Miami was stockpiling all of those guys to make trades later on in the season....some team will be looking for some scoring in feb. and Miami will get out the pantyhose and revolver and make a ridiculous trade that will shore up the one or two weak points on there team at that point...that is what Pat Reily is telling Finley right now.....
I thought that the coaching change would hurt Detroit and it very well may. I don't think Flip has the balls to make a change in the starting lineup should Finley beat Rip out of his starting position, or let's say Flip wants to bring Rip off the bench for a spark. Flip situation will not allow it. He is damned if he does and **** if he doesn't.Originally Posted by detfan89
Also, Miami is just a better fit for Finley either way. Who doesn't want to play with the Diesel? The Pistons just don't have that draw and Finley will want to play for a ring, that won't happen here.
Finley played with Sherell Ford (Illinois Chicago)??? :eek:Originally Posted by Shuttlesworth

Looks like the are out of the Finley sweepstakes. Also looks like Darko will never get off the bench.
