When I'm traveling for training, I really don't push the expenses much. They are already paying for me to learn.

Now if I'm out working on a client, generating money for my firm, I don't worry nearly as much about it, within reason. Plus, the client is paying.

Which is probably why they need a turnaround specialist. If they had any business acumen, they would make you pay. They're the client, after all.

This is a good way to look at it.

    That is entirely possible.

I have been given next to no information on this whole trip aside from that I'm going, and I'm staying at the Radisson by the airport, and class times each day. Other than that, I've been told nothing.

We'd just jack up our rates to cover it. It would be a wash.

I don't think he's trying to screw me, I just think nobody really knows what's going on with this other than that I'm going, staying at the Radisson, and my class times while I'm there.

Exactly. If the church is paying for me to go to a conference or some other training, I go very light on meals and anything else. However if I am traveling to be a speaker somewhere then the company I am speaking for pays and I generally will spend a little more but still within reason

When I travel on business, I usually take a loaf of bread and some peanut butter. Anything else I need I can usually get from the dumpster behind Olive Garden.

I take the ice bucket from my room and catch water from the irrigation system. Less to pack.
