Urban, a touch ghetto, but nothing a young, single guy can't handle. I definitely wouldn't raise a family there..

That being said, there is a ridiculously huge selection of bars... some with decent entertainment options. Tons of good bakeries/places to eat simply because of the smorgasbord of people that live there. My brother lives in Hamtramck and I like hanging there. It's also very easy to get into any suburb.. 20-30 minutes in either direction takes you to the eastside, royal oak area, novi, dearborn.
