You might be right. Also, you and I would go running from that, but plenty of guys (especially with kids of their own) will go for it.

    No. Not at all.

Just doing her thing with her kids, working like normal. We'd spend time together when we'd get the chance when our schedules allowed it.

Really? You couldn't be farther from the truth. Unless you call smothering giving a woman everything she asks for and then some, and asking for next to nothing in return.

By definition, yes... That is smothering.

She would ask me to do something for her, or if I could get something, and I'd do it. I don't see that as smothering. But, whatever.

Huh. Every girl that ever broke up with me always said it wasn't her, it was me. I must have been doing something wrong.

She might not see that as smothering but rather as a threat to her independence. Some chicks, especially single moms, get weirded out by a dude who gets to close and starts doing stuff for them. Or some girls just like it when a dude tells them to f off every so often, like dear old dad did to mom.

IMO you should give her a wide space and let her be. Don't chase her, let her be. She might come looking for you.

And take it from a dude that married a single mom with two kids. It's a difficult thing coming into that situation and a you're in for a world of sht. Having done it, I'd never do it again, and never recommend it to anyone. Yes in the end, now that the kids are grown it's rewarding. But it's also a lot of heartache and troubles. Being a step parent is hard.

downplayed it a bit more in the 2nd post. I'm guessing you rush to her every beck and call...

The fact is, doing everything for a woman is worse than doing nothing. Don't worry, you'll learn eventually. Bend over backwards for a woman, and they'll bend over frontwards for someone with a bit more "edge".

I will put it in an analogy you can relate too... if you went hunting and the deer walked up to you, grabbed your knife and slit its own throat... would it be as fun still? If Dale Jr. layed off the gas and let Jimmy Johnson win every time, would you enjoy NASCAR as much?

The fact is simple... everyone wants a chase. To earn their own. To have to work for something. I understand that its harder for you to find pu$$y than it is for me to find Hopslam in Florida, but you have to own it. Act like you don't need it and can get it whenever you want. Taking the one piece of ass you get and smothering it by diving 100% into the relationship is only going to push someone away.

In the end, I don't know why I feel the need to advise you constantly when I know you won't listen... but take it for what its worth. I'm sure most here will cosign.

Probably not the best time to dissect what might have happened...

Just lay low for awhile JDC and see what happens. If she doesn't come around, move on.
