no complaints about last nights lineup, I guess... lol.
Looks like Leyland plans to sit Dirks in favor of Elmn today:
http://www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ss...-+MLive.com%29That said, Leyland confirmed after Friday's game that Dirks will sit and Young will be in the lineup Saturday night with right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez scheduled to start. That move is based primarily on Young's success off Jimenez, hitting 10-for-23 -- compared to Dirks, who is 2-for-15 against the right-hander.
In 38 games, Dirks is batting .333 with four homers and 17 RBIs. He took over left on a full-time basis when Leyland moved Young to designated hitter -- a spot he’s filled in 70 of 93 games started.
Hmm... Any chance Anibal sticks around longer than this season?
http://www.mlive.com/tigers/index.ss...-+MLive.com%29He was chased in the seventh inning after giving up a single to Ezequiel Carrera, but was immediately greeted with a standing ovation from most of the 41,502 fans in attendance as he walked to the dugout. He welcomed the crowd's kind gesture by tipping his cap.
"That was really amazing, really amazing," he said. "I don’t have any comparison for that. When I throw my (no-hit) game in 2006, it’s not even like that. It’s a lot of people, a lot of fans, and a standing ovation is incredible. I feel like it’s something really new for me."
The crowd's reaction seemed to have left a big impression on Sanchez, who had been told about the team's passionate fanbase prior to his arrival.
"It definitely feels like home," he said. "The best people, it feels amazing. I don’t have exactly words to express that, but the thing is amazing."
Darius Slay will be a star.
My guess is that dirks, boesch & young are going to rotate. Ones plays RF, 1 DH and the other sits. The next day they just go to the next spot. So basically every 3rd day one has the day off. Will be that way till one just plain is getting outplayed by the other 2
Going to the game tonight.
