Just a general question for people: The talent was better, but do you think the level of play by the Dream Team was better than a top NBA team in playoff form? I don't mean how they could play, I mean how they actually played in these games.

In world championship soccer we see countries with all-star team rosters like Spain, but the game they play is actually worse than what you see at the Champion's League level by Barcelona and the like, because they have poor teamwork and communication. How much does individual skill override teamwork in basketball?

IMO, Spain is one of the national teams that are actually better than club teams, but your overall point stands.

Well that's actually where it came up. We were discussing if Spain compares on an NBA level.

Considering their team is pretty much filled with above average NBA players, I say yes they would compete and easily make the playoffs. The USA won by 7 and 11 in 08 I think. This Spain team played with one of their best players in Ricky Rubio.
