I still think a gunshot would me more so. And think of the situation, if he had a gun, do you think he'd stop with one shot? I sure don't. He'd unload whatever he had on the guy.

Unless he started with the knees and slowly moved to the head or chest I'm guessing a beat down with just punches would still take longer. The faster you die the better I'd think
