It's amazing how fast your life can change in just a few moments. 1 second she's loving life the next some damn bug is eating her flesh.... Okay it wasn't 1 second but you know what I mean.

    Not a "bug" either

Such an awful story. I feel so bad for this girl. We just went zip-lining in North Carolina but it was a big complex and it still made me think of it when I read about this. Granted, it sounds like they said it was a perfect storm of stagnant water and her body's make up. Still, such a terrible tragedy.

What happened that caused her to fall? I don't think I've caught that yet...

We zip lined in Costa Rica in the Monteverde Cloud Forrest. One line was over a mile long and you clipped 60mph... The first was about 5000ft above sea level... (500') off the ground... A flesh eating virus would have been a welcome alternative to an accident on this course.

Yes it was homemade. Perfect storm of bad events. Gashed her leg, fell in river that had bacteria, which went deep into her tissue, closed wound and debt her home.
