At the time, Coleman and Bill Martin were up a creek (with Martin sailing, perhaps???). Michigan was rebuffed by other candidates, and LLLLoyd did not set up a sucessor. So things would have been better under Debord???
When someone says Rich Rod was the wrong choice, that's easy to say. I'm more interested in who she believes would have been the better choice given the pool of willing and able candidates. Otherwise, shut up.

Greed is not protecting what you have. It's demanding what you don't have on the backs of others
RichRod was the wrong hire? No **** sherlock!
Martin and Coleman put themselves in that position by fcuking up the hiring process from the get go. THEY botched the thing so badly they forced Miles to sign a new contract at LSU before they even had a chance to talk to him. They pannicked and hired RR because he was a known name, without considering if he would fit in at Michigan and what it would really mean, how long it would take to install his offense. RR was a horrible choice, and those two idiots painted themselves into a corner on that search to where they had to hire him. That whole era was a disaster.

Exactly, and John U. Bacon's book "Three and Out" outlines the bungling of the process in great detail.
MSC should not be pointing a finger at RR without noting the fingers pointing back at her. There was a better, more honest way to answer the question that shows some humility. A little accountability of her role during that time isn't the bitterest pill to swallow--especially given the improved fortunes of the program now.
