Although the NHL's leading scorer was assessed an instigator penalty for starting a fight with Henrik Zetterberg with 19 seconds left in Detroit's 3-1 win, NHL director of hockey operations Colin Campbell rescinded the automatic one-game suspension, pending a review.

It was a bs instigator that got rescinded. Remember when Pronger got suspended when with the Ducks, for Game 4?

wasn't Jiri Fischer suspended in the 02 cup-clinching game, and that allowed Jiri Slegr to get his name on the cup?

the issue here is if you don't suspend him, then cheapshots at the end of the game are considered ok by the nhl...they need to suspend him, but it's Bettman's world, we just live in it..

That's why Jiri Slegr was the luckiest guy in the NHL in the spring of 2002. Acquired by Detroit at the trade deadline, he played just eight regular season games as a Red Wing and did not dress for a single playoff game for the first three rounds. But he was called on to play game five of the Stanley Cup Final in place of Jiri Fischer, who had to serve a one-game suspension. So Slegr got his name on the Stanley Cup, and has a nasty Fischer cross-check to thank for it.

Pronger took a head high run at Homer and really knocked him out and bloodied him as well. Again not saying I wouldnt give him a game for this just dont think the NHL has the nuts to suspend him for this hit at the end of the game. Would love to be wrong and see him get 1-2 games but I expect tomorrow they will sweep this under the rug.
