True, Cleary is off the books after next year, so I guess his 2.8 could go directly to Howard/Flip's raises...
as I've said many times I hate the Quincey situation but since the Wings seem to really like the guy (now) I don't see any way they don't commit to him for multiple years...
Which is why I could totally see them not pursuing Suter- They still view Smith as top-4 potential, so Kronner/Smith/Quincey and White, they're "ok" with that top 4 and then Kindl/E are solid #5/#6 defensemen (in their minds IMO).
Ideally there's no Quincey and then you can get Suter (AND Parise, and still have some cap/roster space flexibility) but I'd say we're stuck with KQ for some time
I could see them moving Kindl this offseason if they don't like the way he is progressing and keeping Quincey to be 5-6 Dman on this team and like I said before still have plenty of room for a few top end players to be added. Personally I don't see anyway this team goes into next season without adding a top end Dman and think they are going to contend for the Cup. I really think Nick is gonna hang them up and how do they just try and promote from within after possibly lose 2 of the top 4 Dmen. If thats the case this team is in big trouble...
Jeez, besides Rinne and Erat, Legwand and Fisher, the Preds don't have anyone signed for next year... 15 players are RFA's or UFA's after this season.
I'd LOVE to see the Wings sign Radulov to an offer sheet in the 3-4million range... why the f not?
What are you talking about? http://www.hockeybuzz.com/cap-central/team.php?team=NAS
They have 12 guys signed for next season already.
Nyquist is most certainly a top prospect. Please do not compare him to Kindl who only made the big club because he was no longer waiver exempt. Nyquist is a better prospect than Tatar at this point. Assuming he plays in the top 6 from the get go next season, he'll be a Calder candidate. His biggest need is to add strength and confidence....but he's already a solid NHL player and was dominant in the AHL as a rookie.

Wonder if the Wings would give up the farm for someone like Nash this offseason? That would be a major change for them to add him to the top line and he is a legit sniper. Probably won't happen but he is a name that people expect to be moved.
