Its in the wording. 5.43 was the total spent on Monday and Thursday. The answer is 4.08 (5.43+3.54+3.54+7.89 / 5)

I understand what they were shooting for... but they say "subtract these numbers: 134.7, (-)45.5, (-)67.9" When you subtract negatives, you actually add them, ya know? Like A2 said, the question should have read "Add these numbers" if they wanted to put the negatives in front.
