I lived in the city nearly 30 years and remain in the suburbs and I don't know why I'm surprised that after as much as the people running it used it as their own cash cow, writing checks on the backs of its citizens and the children who continue to get a substandard education, that a majority of those same citizens don't want intervention. Sad.

When it comes to the people of Detroit, one thing you can always bank on: They will fight with all their energy and might to keep that place a shtty 3rd world, especially if white outsiders are trying to make things better.

I say burn the place down and fence it off. Who cares at this point. They asked for that crap, let them suffer in their own feces.
