Default Arrest Warrant issued for Charles Rogers

It was in December when we told you Charles Rogers was pulled over by police in Saginaw.

An arrest warrant has now been issued for Rogers in connection with that traffic stop and there is an accusation he threatened a family member as well.

Thirty-year-old Charles Rogers faces five misdemeanor charges, relating to that traffic stop in December, and an incident involving the family member earlier this month.

Charles Rogers' athletic accomplishments are well known, a standout at Saginaw High School in a number of sports, he broke numerous receiving records at Michigan State University, but after three injury plagued seasons with the Detroit Lions, the second overall pick in the 2003 draft was cut by the Lions in 2006.

Legal problems followed, including a traffic stop by the Michigan State Police at the corner of Fayette and Dearborn this past December in Saginaw.

The arrest warrant shows three criminal counts, including possession of marijuana, but Rogers is also accused of threatening a family member earlier this month. It appears the threat came during a cell phone conversation.

On the complaints, Rogers has two addresses listed, one in Northville, and the other on Saginaw's east side. There appeared to be no one in the house on Wisner.

News of Rogers' latest legal troubles has a friend of his since high school concerned.

"Charles Rogers was not only one of the best athletes to come out of Saginaw, but one of the best athletes I have ever seen," says Stuart Schweigert.

Schweigert competed against Rogers in high school, college, and also played for the Lions. He is now co-owner of the Saginaw Sting. He's hoping Rogers can get his life back on track.

"I've tried to reach out, of course, obviously, it's going to be up to him if he wants the help, because I would be willing to do anything I could to get help him get back on his feet," Schweigert says.

Rogers and two other people named in the warrants are expected to turn themselves in soon.

I'm convinced this guy's life is a complete 180 if he doesn't break his collarbone, especially that second time against the Bears

With all the F ups he has had hard to look past just how dumb he really is but I tend to agree with you that if he didn't break his collar bone again his career would have been way different.

Why? He's been a disaster as a human since middle school.
He'd just be drunk an broke 10 years later instead.

His life would have been the same but his career as an NFL player would have been way different IMO had he not broken his collar bone.

    disagree completely.

he failed drug tests before the injury, he failed drug tests after.

it may have sped up the timeline, but a complete 180? no way.
