exactly, I don't understand why people are unable to grasp the concept.
This main "issue" is that the police are letting Zimmerman roam the streets with his gun AFTER HE MURDERED THAT KID!
And I wouldn't say the racial issues are secondary, because that's a direct part the whole investigation thing.. The Racial issues are twofold:
1) Did the police give the white(in the police's words) guy, Zimmerman, a pass because he's "white" and the victim was black? Also as noted, the police dept. has had some history of under-investigating some "white-on-black" crimes.
2) Did Zimmerman target Trayvon because he's black.
When someone tries to compare a situation where some unknown black guys lit some white guy on fire to the Trayvon murder, they look ridiculous.

you can call me rediculous...i don't care...
like i said, everything in this case points to everything you are stating above...the outrage IS justified...i just feel that if it were the opposite, the outrage and coverage wouldn't be there...
I just don't agree. You think a black guy chasing down a white kid and shooting him in cold blood, with audio of screams on a 911 tape and the guy isnt arrested, it wouldnt make national waves?
I'm not discounting the racial aspect, I think the fact that the kid was black and was targetted will always be provocative but I think it's totally secondary to what's really getting so much attention - that nothing ha happened to a guy who seemingly is a monster. And no Al wouldnt be involved if the kid wasn't black, if that makes him a hypocrite so be it. He is a bigot too, he's said some really antisemetic things.
