There was a bounty on Stafford that game.
There is a bounty on every big time offensive player every game. May not have money as a prize for it but trying to knock a star out the game is nothing new and its not going away......the Aints got sloppy and took it too far

I'm just hearing about this and haven't read the thread... There's not anyone out there agreeing with this, is there?

I'd imagine an appeal is coming soon
An appeal won't do any good, as Goodell would be the one that would hear it. It's the same reason that the Pats didn't appeal the punishment for Spygate.

Surprised there has not been an appearance by TRRW on this. Oh wait, it is because white coaches were suspended.

If you were the Saints (even if he is a great coach) wouldn't you have to think about firing Peyton and bringing on a new coach/staff. I mean if you want to thing long term, (even using Peytons playbook) a season away from a coach and then going back would be difficult. What if the Saints play well/better with the new staff?

Shockey laughed at this and even offered to do a lie detector test on ESPN. FWIW Sapp has no credibility whatsoever, I can't take his word for it. Plus Shockey doesn't even play defense, I would think this was definitely a defensive player

Yes. Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan discussed it today.

Has to be a defensive player. In fact I would be surprised if more than a very select few of players on the Saints offense even knew about the Bounty system

I was thinking that too. They're going to have a god chunk of their staff missing for a handful of games too!
