Ha, sometimes I forget that I'm like one of 5 people who use the expression "crushing that ass."

It's great for literal use with sexual exploits, but it also works well for doing anything particularly well, or with extreme fervor.

Order a $5-dollar foot long and eat it in one sitting? Crushed that ass.
Taylor Lewan knocking down a DE all game? Crushing that ass.
Wesley Crusher? Wesley Crusher that ass.

David Dawson is a big time offensive lineman from Detroit (MI) Cass Tech and has been committed to Michigan for almost three months now. He remains committed and not taking visits elsewhere, but that hasn’t stopped big time football programs from talking to the giant lineman. All of the coaching and his physical traits have made him one of the most sought after prospects in the nation and have drawn interest from the perennial powers of college football. Since the evaluation period started late last month, teams have been coming to see Dawson despite his commitment to the Wolverines.

“Alabama has been up here once,” he said of the defending national champions. “USC has been up here twice and Florida has been up here twice. Those are the three that came to see me. I got the phone call that I can receive from Alabama Wednesday. USC called me the first day and Alabama just called me.”

New Florida offensive line coach Tim Davis has his eyes peeled for Dawson as does assistant Bryant Young who recruits Michigan for the Gators.

“They have a lot of interest in me,” Dawson said. “The coaches (Davis and Young) came up twice to see me and I have talked to them a couple of times.”

His best friend is current gators commitment Cam Dillard, also from Detroit. And he has known Dillard since his sophomore year.

“When Cam committed, he called me,” Dawson said laughing. “The next day Coach Bryant Young inboxed me on Facebook and said ‘we got your boy’.”

Florida has signed only two linemen in each of the last three years and their numbers along the trenches are very thin. Dawson can play anywhere along the line and someone like that becomes even more valuable in this process.

“Davis says I am very versatile and can play center, guard, and tackle,” Dawson said of the Florida coach. “He likes my feet. He likes how I use my hands and have a good motor. He says I play with good leverage but can work on getting lower. That is what every high school lineman needs to do.

“Other than that he says he likes me overall as a player and that me and Cam would look nice playing next to each other,” he said as he laughed.

It isn’t just Dillard that is all over Dawson. Florida defensive tackle commitment Caleb Brantley and others have chimed in a bit too and want to see Dawson wearing orange and blue after signing day.

“I recently spoke with Caleb Brantley down there at Florida,” he said. “I kicked it with him a couple of times and Cam is all over me to go to Florida. That is the only place where the players are trying to get me there.”

What does Michigan think about it all?

“They aren’t really trippin’ on me talking to anyone right now, but Michigan doesn’t like if we go on visits,” he said.

The only thing he says he will do is take in a few college camps to grow better as a player.

“I am still a high school player and have stuff to work on so I will go to a few camps and try and get better,” he said. “I will hit most of the local camps. “

    Social media is very dangerous.

From Rivals they said he had been wavering for months because he did not like 9 other commits (mostly highly rated) at his position the past 2 classes.
