Interesting conspiracy theory going around:

Urban Meyer may not offer McCray, just so he can simply save face and not draw attention to that fact that is Hoke beating his ass. The theory is that Urb may not ever offer these kids that are Michigan leans or Michigan verbals....and then they can say they never offered/did not want them. And we've all seen it is fairly customary for most schools to still send offers, even if a kid is verbally committed.....This is especially true of Urban Meyer this past January!

Honestly don't care what OSU does.

There was a great article at Rivals by Jim Stephani (sp) detailing in terms of battlefield tactics how Hoke and co are surgically taking apart the midwest recruiting landscape to create huge tactical advantages.

Probably the right attitude, but I do find it interesting.

Here is the #44 player in the country, he has offers from everywhere. Why no OSU offer, though? It certainly lends credit to the theory -or- (and this may be worse) Is Urban Meyer that slow out of the gate? Is he not doing enough?

Well the two articles, and they are paywalled so I don't want to steal from them, outlined it clearly what is going on.

But to just generalize

1) OSU is basically willing to concede midwest players, especially early, to recruit nationally.
2) OSU is going after different players than Michigan on offense.
3) Hoke has taken his best recruiters and kept them in the midwest, RR sent his best to chase in other states.
4) Own the state of Michigan
5) Own the midwest

Seems like they go after one position group at a time and create feeding frenzy. Linebackers might be next.

Does it not seem plausible to you? Does Urban Meyer not seem just like the type of prick, that would do something like that?

And FWIW: Sam Webb told be personally that Urb was doing a lot back channeling and working on all those committed kids from 2012.....and that he just didn't want it out there publically.
