Has there been any serious talk about shrinking the student section? Thought I heard something about it and wouldn't mind eliminating some of the upper deck seats they never seem to fill.

Not likely, but possible

Hollis also mentioned the possibility of cutting back on the 13,400 student tickets that are currently available in Spartan Stadium.

Frequently this season, the student section was not full. Hollis doesn't believe cost is the problem since all the tickets were purchased; he thinks it's cultural. However, he is hesitant to make the decision to cut the seats at this point.

"It's a double-edged sword for an AD to make that decision," he said. "If something rebounds, all of a sudden you're criticized for not having access for students. But you're also sitting there looking at five out of seven games with an empty component of the student section. As of today it's staying the same, but it could change as early as next year."

what is wrong with these idiots attending my university now? get to the f-ing game. I had to sit through John L and booby mcwilliams and that **** storm of mediocrity. Now you are blessed with a real football and basketball team and you ruin the izzone and leave the student section empty? shameful...

I just dont get it.YOu guys have had GREAT seasons the past 2..There should not be any empty seats in that stadium.

Add the Perles, post '90, and Saban pre-99 to the sufferage, and you have my thoughts exactly.

Considering MSU is 5-4 versus NW over the last 9 games.. and 9-7 since 1990.. I don't know why this considered a big game to Sparty..

- nice timeframe - no idea why Michigan is a big game either 32-67-5 against them all-time
(though from 1912 to 1957 they traveled all the way to East Lansing 4 times - #butthurt stat)

My comment relates to that will be a big game if MSU is in contention for the Legends division again and it is the last home game of the year
(FWIW MSU is 4-1 against Northwestern under Coach D....so I like how you throw this back to Johnelle and Booby)
