JoePa's death may make the grand jury testimony unusable. The Defendant is not present during grand jury testimony, and does not have the opportunity to cross-examine witnesses. Thus, the Defendant is denied his right to confront an adverse witness in Paterno. It all comes down to PA law. Some states would NOT allow the testimony, some states would. Federal Circuits are also split on the issue, and the Supreme Court has not ruled on the issue (and has avoided the issue). My Lexis subscription doesn't include PA case law. I'll see if I can find out through other resources.

Ditka just said you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in any avenue of history that influenced more people positively.

And Musberger called it a "little lapse in judgement at the end."

Maybe I'm a horrible person but I really don't want to canonize this guy at this point in time.
I realize I'm putting this here for you to read... but please, don't talk about it.

Not to mention, it wasn't "one moment". It's not like JoePa pulled a Gary Moeller here -- that's "one moment." We're talking about a guy that systematically helped to cover up the rape of minors in order to protect his legacy.

Right...over the course of a decade. Ten fugging years! Deplorable.
