Someone gave me a 30 degree Nike CPR hybrid and I kind of like it. I saw it comes in a 22 and 26 degree as well so I might take a flyer for the hell of it.

Side note, I have way too many extra clubs for reasons just like that.

I'm hoping the wife has lots of stuff for her and the kids to do this weekend so I can get in more than 1 round of golf in.

When I got my original clubs it came with a Titleist 909. Since I dont hit hybrids well I gave it to my brother and its one of his favorite clubs to use

I liked the TM over the others I hit because it felt like it had a little more weight in the head which gave it a more solid feel.

How much would a set of decent clubs run me? I am awful but gotta start playing...all the execs play and constantly invite me but I always bail out.

I guess lessons are a good idea too.

including woods and a putter, if you buy last year's models on some and new irons, i bet ~800-900

I'm probably not the best person to ask, I dont have a lot of iron experience. The only brand of irons i've ever had is taylormade.

Personally, I would go with TM irons and fairway woods and a Callaway driver, but its basically personal preference. I would go to Carl's or something and hit 7 irons from 4-5 different sets and see what you like best form a weight/ feel perspective.

Adams make very good iron/hybrid sets that are great for starters. I think their sets go to 6 iron then the rest are hybrids
