I'm gonna get another dog, teach it to bark and take it to the Olive Garden.

but seriously Joe, at least for your sake things seem to be better (not for the dog though)...

Was there any discussion of why they got the dog in the first place since they're not home? (like was it given to them or strictly her idea or anything like that?)

No SFA2, he really glossed over that, but the previous owners, who are friends of ours still, said they told them their dog was at their parents and they weren't sure if they should bring him to the new house. Obviously this was because, oh I don't know, probably NO ONE WOULD EVER BE HOME!!! I can't say for sure but I really feel they're both determined people and as such, are convinced they can make this work, the dog's feeling/comfort aside.

Big dogs that climb fences I don't want to have to find out if they bite or not. You shouldn't have to have that fear as a parent or just a neighbor, not to mention what gives someone the right to have a noise making machine all hours of the day? Of course it's gonna bark and howl. In fog-speak its probably saying, "Where the fukk did that pair of humans go?! What did I do RO deserve this fenced in box? Why is that Dago giving me the mollachio?"

You sound like a reasonable guy and you're right, there are a ton of idiotic people out there.
Saying that big dogs bite is like saying guns shoot people............

the actions of people is what make dogs bite or guns shoot............

I have a rottweiller, not only does he "not bite" but he literally babysits, he knows what kids shouldnt be into and will prevent them from getting near it, swim to far out in the lake he "herds" them back or grabs their lifejacket and brings them back to shore, he oven is on he puts himself between it and a crawling baby like don't go by that it's hot.

That can't be taught it is inherent. Rotties are such evil dogs that just go around and attack people and devour children..............

Dumb people create dumb animials, just like dumb people cause car accidents
evil people creat evil animials, just like evil people use guns to cause violance.

yes the situation for this dog is terrible, but people that are afraid of all dogs or agressive dogs are ignorant, its a different species but generalizing a breed is just like generalizing a race and to me it is disgusting.

yeah and then he will seek out your children and devour them as well because all big dogs are "cujo" or "hellhound" as put in this thread.
