    Default War Room Mock 2010

Since the Lions are as usual out of it and fighting hard for the number 1 draft pick here is a early look into next Aprils draft.

2010 Mock Draft Last updated 10/28/2009

KEY » * Recently updated Position grade increased Position grade decreased
    MOCK DRAFT: ROUND 1
    PICK TEAM PLAYER POS SCHOOL
1 (1) Rams Updated Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska
The Rams want a quarterback for the future, but seeing that Bradford will just be getting to 100 percent around the time of the draft they can't take the risk of ending up with another fragile QB, so they grab Suh who can replace first-round pick Adam Carriker (who has never developed).
2 (2) Buccaneers Updated Dez Bryant* WR Oklahoma St.
With Freeman the Bucs' quarterback of the future, they need to get him some offensive weapons for him to throw to and Bryant is a big play, sure-handed receiver who should make an impact as a rookie.
3 (3) Titans Updated Joe Haden* CB Florida
While Cortland Finnegan is a good starter, the Titans need another corner across from him to shore up their secondary. Haden is the elite athlete with raw technique that the Titans have shown a tendency to lean toward.
4 (4) Chiefs Updated Russell Okung T Oklahoma St.
Despite taking OT Branden Albert in the first round in 2008, the Chiefs offensive line is a mess. Okung would shore up their right tackle spot as a rookie and will likely become their left tackle in time as we think Albert is always going to struggle with consistency.
5 (5) Browns Updated Eric Berry* S Tennessee
The Browns secondary is a mess and Berry, who played safety at Tennessee, is viewed as an elite athlete with the talent to become a quality starter at either safety or cornerback.
6 (6) Lions Updated Trent Williams T Oklahoma
Jeff Backus is no longer a high-level offensive tackle and if Matthew Stafford is going to stay healthy long term, Detroit needs an elite OT. Williams has what it takes to be extremely good.
7 (7) Redskins Updated Sam Bradford* QB Oklahoma
At this point everyone knows that coach Jim Zorn and Jason Campbell are unlikely to return in 2010 and Dan Snyder not only wants to get a top-level QB, but also loves to make a splash, so he takes the gamble that Bradford can physically hold up and will learn the ropes playing QB in a traditional NFL style offense.
8 (8) Raiders Updated Taylor Mays S USC
The Raiders have been disappointed with the consistency and lack of big play-making from their safeties, so they jump on the chance to grab Mays.
9 (9) Seahawks Updated Bryan Bulaga* T Iowa
Walter Jones career seems to be nearing an end, and if Hasselbeck is going to continue to play well he needs someone to keep him upright. Bulaga is a top athlete with the tools to be that man.
10 (10) Dolphins Updated Mardy Gilyard WR Cin.
Ted Ginn does not look like he is ever going to develop and Miami needs a big-play receiver to play opposite the huge Pat Turner and give Chad Henne some real targets.
    11 (11) 49ers Updated Mike Iupati G Idaho
(From Carolina) The 49ers have their left tackle, but the rest of their offensive line has some real questions. Iupati could start at guard as a rookie and has the tools to possibly become their RT of the future.
12 (12) Bills Updated Brandon Spikes ILB Florida
Spikes played MLB at Florida, but is athletic and instinctive enough to be a very productive starting outside linebacker, which happens to be a position the Bills have struggled to get consistent production from.
13 (13) Jaguars Updated Gerald McCoy* DT Oklahoma
Since the Jags traded Marcus Stroud, their interior defensive line has struggled with consistency and McCoy is a super athletic and very powerful DT who should be ready to start early in his career.
14 (14) Chargers Updated C.J. Spiller RB Clemson
LaDainian Tomlinson's career as an elite back is over and Darren Sproles is not big enough to be a full-time starter, so they jump at chance to get an impact, big-play back like Spiller.
15 (15) 49ers Updated Thaddeus Gibson* DE Ohio St.
While Parys Haralson has become a good pass rusher, Manny Lawson has not developed into one, so the 49ers jump at the chance to grab Gibson who has the explosive pass rush skills to upgrade their defense quickly.
16 (16) Broncos Updated Corey Wootton DE N'western
(From Chicago) The Broncos defense has been stellar in 2009, but the chance to get a defensive lineman with Wooten's size, strength, long arms and athleticism make him an ideal fit for the Broncos new defensive scheme.
17 (17) Ravens Updated Rob Gronkowski* TE Arizona
The Ravens need to get weapons for Joe Flacco and while Todd Heap is still a solid player, he is getting up there and Gronkowski has the talent to be an elite receiving tight end.
18 (18) Texans Updated Patrick Robinson CB Florida St.
The Texans need help in their secondary and Dunta Robinson is eligible to be a free agent again, so the chance to add Patrick Robinson gives Houston a very athletic cornerback to shore up the back end.
19 (19) Jets Updated Arthur Jones DT Syracuse
The Jets defensive line needs to add youth and depth and Jones gives them a very explosive and athletic DT who should contribute early and become a quality starter in time.
20 (20) Cardinals Updated Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma
The Cardinals already have a high-powered offense, but the chance to add a tight end like Gresham, who can add another dimension to their offense, makes too much sense.
21 (21) Packers Updated Cameron Heyward* DE Ohio St.
The Packers switch to the 3-4 has not gone as well as hoped, so they grab Ironhead's son who can start at either DE spot in their defense in time.
22 (22) Falcons Updated Anthony Davis* T Rutgers
The Falcons offensive line has struggled to open holes for Michael Turner in 2009 and Davis is a big, strong and athletic OL with the talent to start at guard or tackle in time.
23 (23) Eagles Updated Rolando McClain* OLB Alabama
Even after trading for Will Witherspoon, the Eagles have not solved their MLB problem for the long term. McClain is a very athletic and highly-productive player who could challenge for a starting job as a rookie.
24 (24) Cowboys Updated Carlos Dunlap* DE Florida
The Cowboys would love to upgrade their offensive line, but with no prospects still on the board they grab Dunlap who has the size, strength and athleticism to be a productive DE in their 3-4 scheme.
25 (25) Steelers Updated Jeff Owens DT Georgia
While Owens played DT at Georgia, his combination of bulk, strength and athleticism make him an ideal DE in their scheme and combined with last year's firs-rounder (Ziggy Hood) should give the Steelers youth on their aging DL.
26 (26) Bengals Updated Greg Hardy DE Ole Miss
While DE Antwan Odom is expected back for 2010, the Bengals need to get another pass rusher to play opposite him and to protect themselves if Odom does not come back at 100 percent at the start of the season.
27 (27) Patriots Updated Brandon Graham DE Michigan
The Patriots have added youth at ILB in recent seasons, but need to get some young outside pass rushers and Graham fits what the Pats are looking for.
28 (28) Giants Updated Greg Jones* OLB Michigan St.
The Giants have struggled to find a solution at weakside linebacker (Even Michael Boley has not solved the issue in 2009) and Jones is the very athletic type LB that the Giants are looking for.
29 (29) Vikings Updated Arrelious Benn* WR Illinois
With Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice manning the starting WR spots, Benn may seem an odd choice, but Berrian's inconsistency is an issue and Benn is the big, strong and physical receiver who would add another weapon to the offense.
30 (30) Colts Updated Jimmy Clausen* QB Notre Dame
Peyton Manning could well be their quarterback for the next decade, but they have little behind him if he gets hurt and Clausen is an ideal player to come in as the backup who could take over whenever the time comes for Manning to step aside.
31 (31) Saints Updated Charles Scott RB LSU
No doubt Mike Bell and Pierre Thomas are a solid tandem, but the Saints would love to get their hands on the big, physical Scott who should be a durable starting back.
32 (32) Seahawks Updated Jonathan Dwyer* RB Georgia Tech
(From Denver) Despite struggling through an injury-plagued 2009, Dwyer is still considered an elite talent and would bring the Seahawks the strong and explosive back they want to upgrade their rushing attack.

i want suh or mccoy ..we need a DT to get to the QB..sign a strong DE and a CB and there is part of your Defense..i think a trade down for more picks would be ideal ..you can get a solid defensive player in the teens and add more picks
Real eyes .. Realize ..Real lies

Maybe with all the QB's coming out, it might be possible. I would love a trade down.. But, we all know it rarely happens..

I wanted Suh. But I've realized how bad our secondary is. Now I want Eric Berry. But now I want Suh.

Either or, I'm happy with both.

If we get an OT. Ok.

If we get anything else (unless it's a DE like Greg Hardy or Carlos Dunlap), I'm burning down Ford Field and taking the jail time.

DT, CB are by far the biggest needs

DE, S, OT are also a need

    Suh would be amazing
That rug really tied the room together.
